This is a Lowland Nyala anatomy study that I did for the “Sculpting Anatomy: From Realistic to Creature” by Gael Kerchenbaum from CG Master Academy. I started with the skeleton and then layered the muscles, skin and fur over the top.

80.LV Article

I was invited to write an article for 80.LV detailing the process I went through to make the Nyala Study. The article was published here in Nov 2018.

Retopology of version without skin (I plan to add xgen fur in the future)

Work in Progress Images

This project was an anatomy study of a Lowland Nyala. The following images show the process that I went through to create this anatomy study.

I first put together reference material and blocked out the skeleton and muscle groups on top of my main reference image.

I then sculpted the skeleton and added the muscle groups on top of the skeleton. After that, I added fat, skin, fur and other details.
